In shot peening, which is considered a surface engineering process, the resistance of a metal part to metal fatigue, cracking, and corrosion is increased. In this process, small metal particles strike the surface of the metal part at high speeds. This increases the stress between the metal molecules, not only eliminating fine cracks but also enhancing the part’s resistance through induced stress.
